As winter approaches I thought it would be fun to remember the beauty of spring nature by introducing you to Botanical Artist Carmen Lindsay. MBG: Carmen, can you share with us how you got into art? CL: I started taking art lessons at the age of 5. My Dad saw me drawing and supported my […]
For years I longed to have my studio on Mt Baldy and I coveted the beautiful, century old building most recently know as “Finley’s Pub.” When Mrs. Unruh, the owner of the Buckhorn Lodge, agreed to lease the space to me, I immediately put word out to the community that I had more space than I needed and would entertain the idea of sharing the space with another artist or two. Well, one or two additional artists turned into 25 and the Mt Baldy Artisan Loft came into being. Most of the artists live and create right here on the mountain.
We have Oil and acrylic painters, photographers, jewelers, wire wrappers, a glass fuser, ceramic artist, pot thrower, weaver, fiber artist, cartoonist and a seamstress. From beautiful greeting cards to original oil paintings, and every price point in between, you will be amazed at the depth and quality of the work offered. Please, stop in and enjoy coffee in front of the fire when you visit Mt Baldy. Pick up a memento, or a piece of art, to commemorate your visit.
Mt Baldy Artisan Loft offers items in support of our vigorous hiking, biking, skiing and snow play community. We have sleds, gloves, scarfs and beanies. You can purchase your Adventure passes here, coffee, hot chocolate, sweets, water, Gatorade, beer, Cliff Bars, sodas, wine. We also have organic, free range chicken eggs.
I want to take you on a tour of The Loft from outside to inside and highlight each artist’s work. Enjoy!

The weekend allowed John and I do make some progress at the Loft! Yay! I washed walls (some walls, not all the walls) and did some more vacuuming of unspeakable things (LOL?) and John installed one 8 ft light fixture and all the electrical outlets for my kilns and grinders! We still have plenty to […]
Well, Robbie (my grandson) and I worked for hours emptying the years of clutter out of the old Finleys Pub. We put it out on the porch and the owner will have her agent pick it up and store it. We took beer signs off the walls, and saddles off the cross beams. We moved […]
